Daphne had paid attention to all Kitty had said. She used her tendency to selectively absorb information and continued to write happily as Katherine stood to leave. Biting her lip, she finished the last flourish of writing, put down some money to cover her drink and pie, then stood up like Kitty Katy Katherine.
Too late to grab the extended hand, Daphne tried to work out if Kitty Kat was making an artistic statement about society and eating AND clothes. The contemplation dimmed as Katherine put out her hand a second time. Eagerly Daphne grabbed the woman's hand to shake it, and in the same movement she put the napkin with her home address in it.
"I have a fireplace!" she happily explained. "So don't be afraid to pop in whenever. If I'm not home, just grab something out of my icebox and you can turn on the television or whatever." Daphne pushed her lips out and looked out, taking a second to think. "You could also look in my cupboards, because I keep lots of biscuits and candy and rice in them. Well, I mean, you would have to cook the rice! Oh! And you could make yourself some nice tea. Wouldn't that be lovely? Tea and biscuits?" Daphne shook her head, realising she would be distracted by tea and biscuits if she thought more about them. "So don't be a stranger. You should come over next week. Or tomorrow!"
Daphne took a step away from her table and did a cute ballerina spin in the process. "I'll see you tomorrow, Katherine Kat!" She blew a friendly kiss at the redhead and began to skip away while bobbing her head in time with a Vivaldi song that had suddenly popped into her brain.
